1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the "Mergen Edu" application. We place children's safety and privacy at the heart of everything we build. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your and your child's information.
2. What information do we collect?
Guest users share no personal data with our servers.
Mergen Edu requires an active internet connection to load and run learning content, but your child's core learning data — progress, scores, and settings — is stored entirely on your device's local database. If you choose to create an account (an action intended for parents only, protected by a Parental Gate), we collect the following: • Email address • Display name • Profile picture (optional) This data is securely stored using Firebase (a Google service). Guest users who do not create an account remain fully anonymous — no personal data is sent to our servers. Children's learning progress is NEVER uploaded to our servers or the cloud.
3. How is the information used?
For registered users, data is used solely to restore your child's learning progress if they switch devices. We do not use any data for marketing, advertising, or profiling.
4. Advertisements and Third Parties
Mergen Edu does not contain any advertisements targeted at children. We use the following third-party services: • Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication and database services • Google Sign-In (Google LLC) — Login functionality These services have their own privacy policies (Google Privacy Policy). We do not sell, rent, or share user data with any other third parties.
5. Children's Privacy Protection (COPPA)
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international standards. • Account creation is intended for parents only and is protected by a Parental Gate (math challenge). Children cannot create accounts independently. • Guest Mode allows children to use the full app without creating an account or sharing any personal data. • In-app purchases are also protected by the Parental Gate.
6. Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

8. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account from within the app. This will permanently remove all personal data, including your account from Firebase Auth, your profile and progress data from Firestore, and your profile picture from Firebase Storage.
9. Analytics and Crash Reporting
We do not use third-party analytics services that collect personal information from children. We only use standard, anonymized usage statistics and crash reports provided by Apple App Store and Google Play Store to improve the app.
